Create a list of Tasks

Tasks provide the recipe of what is done, when it is to be done, how it is to be completed, and who is responsible each step.

Create, edit and copy work tasks

You can add the first item by clicking on Add Item. From then onwards, every time you hit the return Key, a new Task will be created.

To edit a Task you'll need to expand it by clicking on it.

If you want to remove a task from a checklist or work item, you can easily delete it.

Delete a Task

You can rearrange Tasks by dragging and dropping them in the position you’d like them to be. You can also create sub-tasks.

Simply click on the date you would like to remove and select "No date" from the drop down.

You can easily copy a task list (or task list section) across clients from within Intuit Practice Management powered by Karbon

Just copy and paste your task list into an empty task list item.

You can break up any Task list into categories by adding sections. Select ‘Add section’ from below your Task section or the Task menu.

You have the option to create your tasks one day before the start date to one year before the start date.

How far out do tasks get created?

Yes, you can add comment on any work item task or sub-task.

Can I comment on a Task?

Yes, you can reassign a Task as many times as you want. Click on the current assignee’s avatar, and choose “Assign to colleague”.

Can I reassign Tasks?

If you paste 3 lines into a Task list, you'll be asked whether you’d like to keep this as one item or split it into different items.

What happens if I paste numerous Tasks at once?

​No, you cannot assign a single task to multiple people.

Can I assign a Task to more than one person?

By clicking on the task list name, you can rename the title

Can I change the name of a Task list?

Yes, you can assign or update the dates for all items in a Task section.

Can I bulk update Tasks?

Because Tasks are part of a piece of work, there are two options to set the due date.

How do Task due dates work?

When a tasklist Automator has triggered, it will appear with a with a horizontal line through their center.

How do I know when a tasklist Automator has triggered?

Unlike other types of to-do items, a Task won’t trigger a Triage notification when it is assigned to you or a colleague.

Why don't I get a triage notification when a Task is assigned to me?

You can Assign to me, Assign to colleague, Add item below, Add section below, Edit, Copy & Delete.

What actions can I do from the Tasks options menu?

If a colleague makes any changes to a Task at the same time as you are looking at it, you’ll be notified with real-time updates.

What happens when a colleague updates a Task while I'm looking at it?

Yes, you can un-assign the item. Just click on the item to expand it and display the assignment panel.
